A uniform rectangular packing screen, not a permit drawing. It does not automatically calculate setbacks, shade, structural loads, attachment, cold voltage or strings.
Energy-only runtime with no recharge. Your starting charge, temperature, BMS, inverter power and surge limits matter. A larger bank needs its own ESS capacity and siting review.
Coordinate roof geometry and attachment with your builder; reserve a suitable electrical and battery location; plan service capacity, conduit, EV and heat-pump demand; include PV/ESS drawings and inspections in your build schedule.
Exact Canadian equipment approval, roof study, single-line and string design, permits and distributor acceptance remain review items. Annual energy offset is not winter independence.

Solar panels can generate electricity in cloudy conditions, although output is lower than in direct sunshine. A system proposal should account for local weather and seasonal changes.
Not necessarily. Many grid-connected solar systems work without a battery. Storage can help you use solar energy later. Backup during outages requires a compatible system designed for that purpose.
No blanket exemption follows from panel weight. Calgary refers to approximately 10 kg per square metre when discussing roof loading, not the weight of one panel. PV needs an electrical permit; Calgary lists building and electrical permits for energy storage. Roof attachment, structure, land use and battery siting still need review.
